Introducing the first digital certification platform

We bring the first digital certification platform – the SustainCERT App – to help save time, lower costs and remove barriers for those seeking certification. The App serves as a single database for documents, data and workflows for all carbon market certification work.

Taking digital certification to the next-level

We have just started transforming how impact assessment can be done. The SustainCERT App lays great foundations, and by 2022 we endeavour to integrate new capabilities to enable real-time or close to real-time issuances.

The SustainCERT App will include

  • Encoded methodological requirements – complexity is shifted away from users, methodologies are plug-and-played into the SustainCERT App, default values and GHG calculation algorithm are provided to users.
  • Digital Data Capture via smart meters, sensors or satellite imagery.
  • Automated real-time monitoring – data feeds into the SC App with little to no manual step, thereby minimizing cost and error.
  • Automated verification – decouple verification from a milestone-based approach towards a calibrated, real time assurance process at portfolio and project level.

How to certify a project

The certification process is geared to help design projects for maximum positive impact and to provide the necessary assurance that they achieved what they intended. This includes hiring an approved third-party auditor, called a validation and verification body (or VVB), to provide independent verification for project design and performance.
