Following the successful completion of our pilot with Verra, INNOVENT Comores and AERA Group, SustainCERT is now launching Digital Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (DMRV) as a service to renewable energy projects under the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).
SustainCERT’s market-first DMRV approach streamlines the monitoring, reporting, and verification process, enabling higher credit issuance frequency and strengthening trust in every issued credit.
DMRV enables the processing of large datasets with greater speed and accuracy, reducing the time and effort required during verification. Higher-frequency issuance cycles can support improved cash flow predictability and reduced market risk for project developers.
As carbon markets grow and scrutiny increases, scalable digital infrastructure is essential to maintain integrity while expanding impact. DMRV strengthens, rather than replaces, the trust foundations of carbon markets.
Initially, DMRV is available for renewable energy projects under Verra’s VCS Program, with expansion to additional methodologies and standards planned.
Verification is the trust layer of carbon markets. Yet monitoring and verification processes remain largely manual, document-heavy, time-consuming, and increasingly difficult to scale as project portfolios and data volumes grow.
DMRV modernizes verification without compromising rigor or quality.
The SustainCERT Platform connects directly to project data systems to continuously collect, validate, and prepare monitoring data for verification, reducing manual workflows while preserving audit integrity.
DMRV enables:
SustainCERT is an independent Validation and Verification Body (VVB) accredited under ISO 14065 and approved under Verra’s Verified Carbon Standard (VCS).
Our DMRV solution was developed in collaboration with Verra and supports alignment with VCS requirements. It strengthens our accredited verification processes through secure automation, structured datasets, and transparent data governance.
As a market first, we have developed an end-to-end digital approach to issue carbon credits, approved by Verra and in line with market best practices.
The launch of DMRV builds on years of work to digitize MRV processes. Since 2021, SustainCERT has been advancing DMRV across the voluntary carbon market, through research, collaboration, and pilot implementation.
Our efforts include:
If you are a renewable energy project developer under Verra’s VCS Program and are interested in digitizing your MRV process, our team is ready to support you.
